This Blog was designed for women boomers born in 1957, the height of the Baby Boomer Era. In 2007, these fabulous females will turn the golden age of fifty. This site commemorates their (our) lives and offers an opportunity for us to chronicle our intentions of future successes. Yet,we are just getting started--the best is yet to come. Sensing that we are on the brink of even greater accomplishments, we the Fabyoulousat50, female Boomers want to enter this new age booming even louder than we did in 1957 when we first graced this planet.

This is a personal invitation to my fellow Fabyoulousat50 Boomers who know the blessings in just being "here," as Ms. Celie of the Broadway Musical, The Color Purple, says. So, talk to us. Tell us what you've been doing for yourself and others these last fifty years. If you plan to change some things, continue what you're doing ('cause it working), or if you don't have a clue tell us that.

Let me start this conversation by saying that it is "my time." Not that I have not already been taking care of myself. But I have some wonderfully, fabulous ideas that I will (note the tense) make happen. You'll hear more about those later. Just know that I am finally ridding myself of the thoughts, stories, and scripts that tell me what I cannot do. The ironic thing is that I have always known my capabilities, but I have valued others' opinions above my own. Or, maybe I was afraid they were right, whatever. Not, this time, though, and not this year! So, join me in my celebration. Correction, join me in our celebration. Even better, "Lets get this party started!"

What about you? What's going on in your world. Nothing is off limits. What are your concerns? Have you discovered or rediscovered something, yourself even? Making some changes in careers or other significant relationships? Or you're just glad to be here! Let us hear from you. Simply click on comment and post.

Share with us, guys. Just because this is a celebration for rising Fabayoulousat50 women, does not mean your voice is not welcomed. By all means share with us. We're just starting this journey; no doubt you have some valuable insights to share. I remember when I was in my 20's, I had at least four older women friends (in their 40's) who gave me the heads up on some very important issues that were ahead of me. Makes me smile just thinking about Nancy, Edna, Louise, Wilma, and Jackie (okay at least five). So please share with us. I may be almost 50, but I ain't grown yet! Click on comment and speak your heart, mind, whatever, you'll have the mic.
